Q- Why should I get permanent makeup, and why should I choose
The Pigment Parlour as my studio?
A- At The Pigment Parlour, I offer more than just cosmetic tattooing; I provide a personalized experience rooted in a deep passion for skincare and beauty. With years of experience in beauty products and as a makeup artist, I've dedicated myself to becoming an expert in cosmetic tattooing. I officially established myself as an independent artist and business owner in October 2020, driven by my desire to excel in enhancing natural beauty through microblading and other specialized techniques.
What sets The Pigment Parlour apart is my commitment to continuous education in cosmetic tattooing techniques and over a decade of hands-on experience in beauty services. I prioritize building meaningful connections with my clients, understanding that each person's journey is unique. Whether you're looking to save time in your daily routine, regain confidence after medical treatments, or simply enhance your natural features, I am here to provide a service that goes beyond aesthetics, empowering you to feel your best and make your life easier.
Choosing The Pigment Parlour means supporting a small business in your community. In an industry that's growing rapidly, not everyone brings an artistic or esthetic background to their work. By choosing my studio, you're choosing expertise and a personalized approach that values your individuality and specific needs.
I believe in giving back to our community, whether through personalized appointments or donations to local nonprofits. Your support allows me to contribute positively to our community while delivering exceptional cosmetic tattooing services.
By booking your appointment with The Pigment Parlour, you'll benefit from a blend of expertise and passion aimed at enhancing your natural beauty and meeting your specific needs. I look forward to serving you.
Q- Does it hurt?
A- Everyone has a different pain tolerance but numbing cream is applied before and throughout your appointment. 5% Lidocaine assists in removing discomfort during your appointment. Some people experience a dulled sensation while others fall asleep- the spectrum for pain is vast, but rest assured I will do what I can to make you feel comfortable for the duration of your session.
Q- Okay I'm ready to book my appointment! But I'm not sure which one I want yet...
A- That's okay! During your appointment we have an in depth consultation to discuss your goals and options. I'm happy to help you choose which look is the best fit for you. Skin type, brow shape, age, and lifestyle, can all help me determine this. Your goals are always taken into consideration, as well as which technique will suit you best as an individual.

Q- I have previously had microblading, I love your work and need them refreshed-
Can I book with you if I still have some old pigment in my brows?
A- I accept clients with previous work on a case by case basis. It is important that you let me know you have faded work BEFORE your scheduled appointment. Not all previous work can be corrected, and they will need to be 80% faded before I will touch them. I love to help people feel better about their brows, previous work or not, but if the brows are too dark or mishaped from past sessions with a different artist, you must wait for them to fade further or get removal done before booking.
Please email me with a photo of the left brow, right brow, a front facing photo and even a video if you can, so I can evaluate if they can be corrected. You may also book a consultation to chat about your brows in person.
Booking a full brow session without clearance for a correction goes against studio policies and will be subject to fees.

Q- How long does it take and why is it so expensive?
A- This is your face. You wouldn't want just anyone cutting your hair, dental work, or any other cosmetic changes for you..so you should approach cosmetic tattooing the same way. Brows and lips are also two-part appointments 8-12 weeks apart. Brow and lip work take about two hours the first time you are seen, a third or so of which is a lot of consult and design time, the touch up is about an hour an twenty minutes, freckles are only about one hour. It is an investment!
Q- Can I bring a friend or significant other with me as support? What about my kids?
A- While I respect that some people may feel more comfortable with a support buddy, the studio space cannot accommodate more than two people at a time (aka you and I!). If you require assistance due to any reason, you may bring a guest and they can sit in on the consultation portion of the appointment. Before we begin the actual service they will have to move to the waiting area outside, where seating is also limited. They're welcome to leave us to our time together and go shopping or grab food locally as well. So please, if you can, just bring yourself and maybe some headphones to listen to your favorite music or a podcast if that helps! Children are not allowed into the space by law and you will be turned away for your appointment if they are with you, no one under the age of 18 is allowed in the space at all- so please plan accordingly.
Q- What do you offer for cosmetic tattooing? What about other services?
A- I currently offer brow, lip and freckle tattooing only. I do not have plans to offer eyeliner or scar camouflage at this time.
While I am a licensed esthetician, I do not offer any aesthetic services outside of cosmetic tattooing. Brow services come in the form of micro blading, shading (also known as powder or ombre), a combination of both, and I will soon be offering nano brows which is a technique that gives hair like strokes using a machine rather than a hand held tool.
Q- What do you mean the pigment fades? I thought this was permanent like a tattoo..
A- Cosmetic tattooing is in a realm of its own and is considered permanent due to the longevity of pigmentation in the skin. It falls into the tattoo category because of how that pigment is implemented in the skin and the precautions and education that goes into the process, but it does not go quite as deep into the skin as a traditional tattoo does, and the ink is formulated specifically for cosmetic work. All forms of cosmetic tattooing will fade in time, how fast it fades depends on the clients skin type, products used, genetics, skin and internal health and lifestyle. Fading is a normal and good part of the process. Fading allows for color and style changes that can take place as you also change in time.
This service is meant to make brows/lips LOW maintenance, not NO maintenance.
Don't throw your pencil away, just use it a whole lot less, and with no stress.
Please see "The Pigmentation Process" and "Current Client" pages for more information.
Q- I think I want this but I'm still uncertain, can I call to ask you a few more questions?
What is the best way to contact you in general? How do consultations work?
A- Of course you can get in touch with me to ask more questions, but first please read through all the other pages offered on my website. I have been as detailed as I can on here for you. If you find you're not sure if you're a candidate, want to meet me to check it out first, have any particular circumstances etc, I suggest booking a consultation.
A consultation is about 20 minutes of us having an in person chat where we can sort through any and all questions that might come up. I could also do some brow mapping in that moment for an idea of what I might be thinking shape wise, if time allows. Email is always the an efficient way to get a hold of me, you can always send me photos there and I can give you some feedback. However if it seems that you need more personal attention to detail I will at that point suggest booking the in person consult, which is a $50 cost for my time. If you or I decide the service is not for you the charge will still be applicable, however if you go on to book (and I hope you do!) the deposit will go towards the cost of the service and be deducted from payment at the time of your future appointment. Deposits must be used within one year or they are no longer valid.
Q- What if I can't get the touch up for some reason? Moving/pregnancy etc?
A- I understand that life happens, and such things are unpredictable. I do not offer refunds of any kind for any reason, as stated in my policies which are agreed to before booking, and in the consent form before we begin. I am an independent artist running a very small business. I need to be compensated for my time, supplies, and efforts despite what may occur outside of my studio, and in my clients personal lives. We will book your touch up at your first appointment together, but to follow through is the clients responsibility. I can only control what happens in my studio and give clients the information to make their own decisions. Clients who become pregnant or are unable to make it to their touch up appointment due to medical reasons are welcome to book a "current client color boost" when they are no longer pregnant or breastfeeding or have doctors clearance. This may still require a touch up session at cost, and can be discussed on an individual basis. As in all cases, no call, no show appointments will not be permitted any future appointments as this is a violation of my policies, even if payment has already been received.
Q- What is a "(current client) Color Boost? How long does permanent makeup last?
A- A Current Client Color Boost is what some artists might call a "yearly touch up". Permanent makeup can last 1-3 years before needing any further touch ups, and in most cases it is because the color has faded. To book this, you must already be my client, and send photos to check in. In all cases I do not want to over work or over saturate the brows, so I want to be sure you are faded enough for the skin to positively receive more pigment before booking. Over time the color will fade out, or cool down. When coming in for a color boost it is almost like getting a toner at the hair salon. I will refresh, brighten, and balance the shape and color. This is a once time session and there are no additional follow ups until the next time you need a touch up in another 1-3 years. Microblading, especially the lighter colors, will typically need touch ups more frequently than a combo brow.
Q- Do you offer senior/military discounts? Trades?
What about social media exposure? Payment Plans? Care Credit?
A- Sorry, but no. I have such a great appreciation for every person who books and spends money at my studio- they are supporting me and my dream! In return I give them the best service and experience I have to offer. I price my services based on my expertise, time and money I have invested in training, as well as overhead, after care for you to take home, and of course, paying myself. It is not feasible for me to offer discounts to anyone for any reason.
If you need assistance in payment for the services, I suggest asking friends and family members for gift cards, which are available to purchase here on my website. They can be for any amount, and I'm sure having one or multiple people chip in for birthdays and special events in that way can be helpful. I am not interested in trades, and do not offer payment plans or accept care credit.
Any social media shout-outs I receive come from the honesty of my clients experience, and not for any personal gain.
Thank you for understanding!
